Georgia law allows only a game
official to kill a dog wearing a
collar and pursuing a deer or other
game. Hunters or land owners who
shoot a collared dog on their
property are subject to criminal
action and civil law suit. The law
realizes that hunting dogs cannot
recognize property lines and
sometimes stray over them. The
best thing to do is to catch the dog
and call the owner to come and get
him. It could save embarrasment
and a possible law suit.
Many other suggestions and ideas
were brought up by the hunters
who attended the meeting. Every

these meetings and express his ideas
on the game regulations. The DNR
will listen to you, even though
they mav not use your idea.
