Dimmer switches
lower electric costs
Did you know that a dimmer
switch can triple the life of your
light bulbs lower your electric costs
and create "mood" lighting when
you want it?
Adding a dimmer switch to re
place a standard switch is a great
home improvement project because
it takes less than 15 minutes and
costs under $lO.
How does the dimmer lengthen
the bulb life? The filament of a
dimmed bulb does not bum as hot,
so it lasts longer. Dimming a bulb
by only 10 percent can more than
double its life span; dimming it to
half capacity can increase longevity
30-fold or more.
Dimmers are not just for the din
ing room chandelier. Consider one
for hard-to-reach bulbs (they will
last longer), hall lights, living
room lamps, family room and even
for the outdoor lights. Dimmers al
low us to control lights for different
activities and moods.
