Froehlich tells
Exchange Club
center is growing
By ROBIN BOOKER
Staff Writer
Michael Froehlich spoke to the
Perry Exchange Club Thursday and
told clubmembers the Georgia
National Fairgrounds and Agricenter
is growing and looking ahead to
serving more groups in the future.
Froehlich, executive director of
the facility, told the club several
new promotions would be in place
at this year's fair to celebrate the an
niversaries of various fair events.
The concept of the fair is celebrat
ing its 200th anniversary this year,
and the ferris wheel is celebrating
its 100th anniversary.
"More people attend fairs than
baseball games, football games and
basketball games each year, so the
fair is quite an attraction in the
United States," Froehlich said. "We
want our fair to pay tribute to these
anniversaries, so we will have some
special things going on this year."
Froehlich also shared his concept
of combining business and com
munity support with the Agriccnter
to help promote all entities.
"Since the Agriccnter opened, at
least four motels, eight new restau
rants and several businesses have
opened in Perry," said Froehlich.
"This is a tremendous opportunity
for the community and our facility
to work together, and we want to
take advantage of that opportunity."
As part of his presentation,
Froehlich shared plans of anew
conference center to be built later
this year. Construction on the cen
ter is scheduled to begin ibis sum
mer with a completion date ex
pected late this year or in early
1994.

"Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat" which will
be presented May 6-8 at 8 p.m. in
the PHS Theatre. This well loved
musical has proven to be a show
with great popular appeal. Writers
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim

fervent gusto, complete with coun

Presley tribute.
The show uses a lot of comedy
and a lot of pop/rock music to tell
the story of Joseph and his 11
brothers, who take the term
"sibling rivalry" to new heights!
Joseph, it would seem, is his fa
