She attended Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church. Ms. Harrell was a 1991 graduate of First Presbyterian Day School and was a student at Macon College. She was a part-time employee of Belk Matthews. Survivors: parents, Ronnie and Ramonda Avera Harrell; sister. Savanna Caren Harrell of Macon, Sally Avera erf Macon; brother, Walter D. Harrell Jr. of Perry. Services: Were held Friday, Feb. 18, 1994 in the Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church at 10 a.m. The Revs. Steve Johnson and Joe McDaniel officiated. The burial was private. Hart's Mortuary had charge of arrangements. Paul Gene Clark Paul Gene Clark, 67, of 1408 Windsor Rd., died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 1994 at the Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Bom in Alabama, be was a Navy World War II veteran and a retired computer analysis from Robins Air Force Base with 32 years of civil service. He was the son of the late Robert L. Clark and the late Margaret Elliott Clark and was married to Jo Clark of Perry. Mr. Clark was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Civitan Club. Survivors: wife, Jo Clark of Perry; daughter, Terry J. Harper of Perry; son, Conley Clark of Silver Springs, Md.; and two grandchildren. Services: Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, 1994 in the Perry Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. The Rev. Phillip Thomason will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: The American Heart Association, Central Georgia Area Office, P.O. Box 2065. Macon, Ga. 31203. Churches plan activities for members, community Second Memorial Baptist The following missionary speakers and special services are part of the church's observance of World Missions Conference Feb. 20-23: •Sunday, Feb. 20-Ethan Simons, church planter, home mis sionary, Novato, Ca. will speak at 11 a.m., a covered dish dinner will be held at the church at noon and a food fellowship will be held at 6 p.m. Dr. Vera Campbell, foreign missionary to Japan will speak at 7 p.m. •Monday, Feb. 21-Bob Bagley, state missionary. Director of Missions for Murray County, Dalton, Ga. will speak at 7 p.m. •Tuesday, Feb. 22-Raul Vazquez, home missionary, Florida Baptist Convention, Jacksonville, FI. will speak at 7 p.m. •Wednesday, Feb. 23-A covered dish supper will be held at 6 p.m and Elizabeth Sands, foreign mis sionary to Pusan Korea will speak at 7 p.m. A nursery will be provided for all services. Houston Lake Baptist A gospel sing is being held to day featuring the Gospelaires and Good News Singers beginning at 7 p.m. Evangelist Fred McCoy is the featured speaker at an upcoming re vival to be held at the church Feb. 27-March 3. Services will be held Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m. and on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. A nursery will be provided for children up to three years old. Stephanie McMillan is recruit ing workers needed for Vacation Bible School. First Baptist Perry The Teresi Scholarship Committee thanks the church members for opening their pocket books last Sunday. Offerings that day alone brought in $9,168 and the money is continuing to come in to the church office. Perry Presbyterian Church To better facilitate the activities at the church on Wednesdays there will be a supper provided at the Youth Center at a small cosL There will be some changes in the present schedule so that Wednesday night will look like this: •3:30-5 p.m.: Young Believers (first through fifth grades) •5-6 p.m.: supper provided at the youth center •6-6:30 p.m.:common church prayer meeting •6:30-7:30 p.m.: Bible study led by the pastor, other groups meet at this time •6:30-8 p.m.: choir rehearsal •5:30-8 p.m.: nursery provided •6:30-8 p.m.: adult supervised playroom and study rooms for grammar school age children The cost for supper will be S3 for adults and $2 for children with a SlO maximum pier family. It is our vision to consolidate a number of church meetings on Wednesday night and to make it a time when the whole family gathers for wor ship, edification and fellowship. A New Members Class begins Sunday, March 6 and will continue through Sunday, April 24. Please be in prayer for VBS in June. We need teachers and helpers. Contact Jeannie Sexton, VBS Director, to volunteer. Perry United Methodist Anew Sunday School class for married and single young adults be gins Sunday, March 6. Everyone interested should meet in the fel lowship hall at 10 a.m. Mrs. Jackie Marshall will serve as "mentor" for the class. The youth choir will not meet this Sunday. UMYF begins at 5:30 p.m. and a movie, Safe at Home, will be featured. Drama meets at 8 p.m. Both of the children's choirs will sing during the evening worship service Sunday. Any adults aged 40-55 who would like to get a group started for fellowship, fun and learning please the the church (987-1852). William Jackson will show slides of his mission trip to the Philippines at Family Night Supper Wednesday, Feb. 23. Seventh and eighth graders from the church will be returning from a ski trip to Boone, N.C. Sunday evening. Second Memorial Baptist Rev. Tommy Coffee and the church's congregation invites the public to a song service beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20 featuring the Good News Singers from Sandy Valley Baptist Church in Warner Robins. Gay, center, received the Eagle Scout Award Sunday, Feb. 12 at Crossroads United Methodist Church. Program participants Included Gay's parents, at left, Ricky Stevens, assistant scoutmaster, Annie Bacon, CUMC representative and Charles W. Hubbard. Gay receives Eagle Rank during ceremony Troy J. Gay, BSA Troop 96, receives Eagle Scout Award as a service project for his Eagle Rank, T. J. worked with the mens group of Crossroads United Methodist Church to implement his plans for the construction of two picnic tables. Through his planning and leadership, assisted by Scouts and Scout leaders from Troop 96, the tables were completed and given to the Crossroads Church in August 1993. Having satisfied all the requirements for the Rank of Eagle Scout, he passed his Board of Review on December 6,1993. In a letter dated Dec. 23, 1993, the National Office of the Boy Scouts of America confirmed the Award of the Eagle Scout Rank. A special Court of Honor was held at the Crossroads United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, 1994 to formally present T.J. with his Eagle Scout award. Through an impressive candle light presentation, titled "Lighting the Eagle Trail", the progression from Tenderfoot to Eagle was explained by Troop 96 Scoutmaster Troy C. Gay, assisted by Eagle Scouts Paul Kemp and Andy Bacon. At the opening of the court of Honor, Ms. Annie Bacon, Scouting representative for Crossroads United Methdodist Church, reminded T.J. that, "...when once the Eagle Rank is won, and you are soaring with the others, remember Eagle is for life, reach out and help another..." Taken from a poem by Richard R. Cobbs titled "From Tiger Cub to Eagle ScouL" Mr. Charles W. Hubbard, a retired business executive now residing in Wayne County, Ga., presented the Eagle Award to TJ. by pinning the Eagle badge to the Scout uniform. He used an adaptation by Dr. James Sheard, taken from "Ride The High Places", explaining how the Eagle is symbolic in building the strength to achieve greatness. T.J. was challenged by Mr. Hubbard to: "...Choose your values carefully. Learn from those that go before you. Observe from the high ground. Expand your vision each day. Set your goals high. Focus your effort on them. Achieve your own greatness one day at a time..." In recognition of their support and encouragement, TJ. presented each of his parents within a miniature eagle. Numerous letters of congratulations, including those from a NASA astronaut, Governor Miller of Georgia, Mayor Worall of Perry and the President of the United States, Bill Clinton, were acknowledged by Asst. Scoutmaster, capt Gregory Harbin. Color Guard members were Billy McDaniel, senior patrol leader of Troop 96, assisted by Ricky Stevens along with another Eagle Scout, Joe McDaniel.
