Thereat the Virginian stooped in
his walk through, the long corridor
of. the capitol and picked up a small
black headed pin. “I am not super
stitious,” he repeated, “but there is
one thing I never do—I never open
a letter with the address turned
down. I will tell you why. When I
was a bank cashier, I had a lot of
letters in my mail one day. They
were piled up neatly before me, and
I began to look over the contents of
each. “

evening- at Jack Collins’ to the left of
Athens street, just outside of the city
limits.
Ed Scott attacked Jack Collins about
a dog- that the latter had killed. Plows
were passed and Jack finally flattened
Ed’s nose and badly bruised his face

Cooper Scott came up and knocked
Jack down with a pole. Jack came up
a-fighting, when old man Scott grabbed
an axe and threw it at Jack. The lat
ter dodged and when, the ax landed,
Jack gragbed it and threw it at Scott,

were many valuable relics, some of
which are sthl preserved.
