Meeting's Close.
The meetings which have been

Wigs Emma Tucker, closed ves-
jerday afternoon. Great interest
Has been manifested in the meet-
lugs and much good has been ae-
lomplished. The Methodist
Marches have been greatly re
vived by the services, and many
tew converts will be added to the
ihurch rolls by reason of the
aeetings.
Revival Services.
Rev. D. S. Grindle closed a
week’s revival services at New
Holland on last Friday night.
Much good was accomplished by
the revival. Six converts were
baptized and received into the
church at the services Friday even
ing.
Moths Were Plentiful.
L. E. Powelll, who has been at
ork in and around the city ren
vating feather beds for some
eeks, did a pushing business up
ntil a few days ago when, it is
llegea, he was caught trying to
ut some worms and moths into a
eather bed he was endeavoring to
pt the owner to have renovated,
t is charged that he had a box of
onus and these he would slip in-
a feather bed and point out to
a owner as needing renovating
ecanse of the presence of the
eets. He secured many jobs by
eason of this craftiness, it is al-
eged, as the presence of moths in
he feathers was conclusive proof
o the housekeepers that their beds
ertainly needed renovating.
Some of the parties for whom
bwell renovated beds allege that
0 inflated their feathers to such
Q extent that upon going to bed
hey felt like they were upon ‘‘flow
Ir y bed of ease” to awaken next
orning to find that they were
istaken and had been given what
elt iihe “a stone” to rest their
ear y heads upon as the “infla-

was as “flat as a flounder.”

SHOULD PUT UP BOXES.
The people who live along the
Rural Free Delivery routes should
lose no time in putting up mail
boxes and taking advantage of the
free delivery service. It has been
the policy of the government to
discontinue rural free delivery
service upon all routes serving less
than 100 patrons, but Senator
Clay has had assurance from the
department that this will not be
done in Georgia. However, to be
on the safe side, the people along
the rural free delivery routes in
H ill county should put up boxes
and assist the authorities in main
taining the service. The benefits
accruing from daily mail, delivered
at your door, are too great to be
allowed to go by default.
The most beautiful people in this
world are not always the most
compauiouable and pleasant.
Men who wait for some tide of
popularity to carry them into
public favor usually make ship
wreck of their lives before they
reach any comfortable haven.—

Personal Journalism.
Personal journalism of the good
old sort still flourishes in the
West. At the Teachers’ Institute
in Russell, Kan., one of the young
women teachers complained in an
address that teachers were often
worried and troubled beyond en
durance. And thereupon the lo
cal paper came out with this:
‘‘The fact is that a girl who has
been sitting on some fellow’s knee
from 10 o’clock till daylight is in
no condition to go into a school
room and perform the duties of a
teacher. She will be sleepy and
irritable, and instead of gaining
the love and respect of the chil
dren will incur their dislike, which
will destroy her usefulness as a
teacher and her influence for
good. ”

An exchange says a sensible
young lady of Kansas made the
following request of her friends:
“Do not lay me down by the rip
pling brookside lest the babbling
waters wake me from my draams:
nor in the beautiful cemetery in
the valleys, sightseers cooing over
epitaphs distract me; but let me
sleep under the counter of the
