MRS. PFEFFER HURT.
Mrs. P. Pfoffer’ was painfully hurt
on last Wednesday morning .when she
was struck by the Belle train a t the
Southern depot, just after sho harf^At
tempted to cross the railroad tracks.
Mrs. Pfeifer, it. is said, was'coming
across the tracks just in front of the
fast moving train, and did not get on
the curb which surrounds the depot
quick enough to avoid it. Mr. prfrlton
McrcHj seeing her danger, ran and tbok-
bold of her, trying to help her ovor tho
curb, and was also hurt, though not
as seriously as Mrs. Pfeifer. It is said
by those witnessing tho accident that
Mr. Merck's quick act probably saved
the life of Mrs. Pfeifer.
Her many friends here will be glad
to learn that Mrs. Pfeifer is now re
covering from the effets of her wounds.
