21 o’clo.-k, conducted by the vicar, Rev
H. 8. Cokey, and interment was in Alta
Vista cemetery.
Mrs. Simomns was A woman whose
ggcticncss, sweet disposition and many
Christian attributes drew to her many
friends, who were saddened by her de
mise. Slu had been a faithful member
of the Episcopal church for a longnum-
bei of years, and her life was one wor
thy of emulation throughout.
Besides her husband she is survived
by three children, Mrs. O. A. McDer-
med and V[rs. J. B. Woodcock of this
city and Mrs. Homer Sewell of Long
Beach, Calif. ‘

OPENED YESTERDAY.
The splendidly improved store of the
Piedmont Drug Co. formally opened its
'doors for business yesterday, after be
ing completely remodeled and restocked
throughout. Tho store was almos,t com
pletely astroyed by fire in April, and
has unaeigone remarkable improve
ments in remodeling.
The store now has two entrances, one.
on East Washington street and one on
Bradford streot. The prescription room
has been moved into tho room formely
occupied by Dr. J. J. Powell on East
Washington street, thus giving the drug
and other departments the entire floor
space of the building formerly occupied
by the whole store.
