A 54-year-old Gainesville
woman has been charged with
concealing her dead son’s body
four years after the 10-year-old’s
skeletal remains were found on
the side of the road in Arizona.
Crystal Wilson, formerly of
Buckeye, Arizona, was arrested
Dec. 12 and will face a charge of
abandonment or concealment of
a dead body.
In July 2016, Wilson said her
10-year-old adoptive son, Jesse
Wilson, ran away from home
after putting him to bed.
Buckeye Police, volunteers
and the FBI searched for the
10-year-old to no avail.
Jesse’s skeletal remains were
found March 8, 2018, on the side
of a road in Arizona, according to
a release from Buckeye Police.

Potential record lows to hit Hall County around holiday

Christmas Eve is going to be one of the
coldest Hall County has had in 40 years.
And Christmas day won’t be a lot
warmer.
A cold front is expected to hit the area
late Thursday, with temperatures tak
ing a rapid plunge to 19 degrees Friday
morning, wind gusts of between 25-35
mph and a high of just 25, said Keith Stell-
man, a meteorologist with the National
Weather Service.
The temperature will drop to 11
degrees by Christmas Eve morning, with
wind chills ranging from 0 to -5 through
out the day and a low of 11 degrees that
night. Friday and Saturday will be the
coldest days of the week, according to
Stellman, as the temperature will rise to
a high of just 29 the day before Christmas.
“We’re basically going to go more than
48-hours below freezing,” Stellman said.
To prepare for the cold, local nonprof
its and churches are banding together to
open a temporary shelter and provide
cold-weather essentials to homeless
people.
On Saturday, temperatures “will
be close to record lows,” according to
Stellman, who said the low that day is
expected to be “just a couple degrees
above the record lows set in 1983.”
Christmas morning will see a low of 17
degrees before climbing to above freez
ing temperatures that day.
It could snow early Friday, but Stell
man said the likelihood of any precipita
tion is decreasing.
“There might be some flurries around
early Friday morning, but the precipita
tion chances seem to be decreasing with
time,” Stellman said. “The only caveat to
the roads will be Friday morning. We are
expecting it to rain overnight into Friday
morning, and depending on how much
drying occurs after that rain ... it intro
duces what we call a potential for a flash
freeze.”
