Kosumtst to Valor- To comparo the fighting in Cuba with the fighting of our Civil War is like comparing a pantomime to areality. But we have an abiding faith that the same may be said of any other fighting. There was never any fighting in the history of the world like that done by the Army of Northern Virginia. Our Northern friends did some very good fighting at times, but their record will bear no sort of comparison with that of the Army of Northern Virginia. They havo covered the face of the land over with monuments to their soldiers, but when they published the rec ords of the war in those 200 black volumes that are now open to all mankind they erected the most, splendid monument to the Confed erate soldier that has ever been built on earth. In all future time the poets will delve into those volumes for the inspirations that move maukind to tears. Some Homer will come along after awhile and put the suffering and the heroism of the Confederate soldier before the world in fitting verse, and when he does men will i forget all about the seige of Troy and will read of nothing but R. E. Lee and those ragged men of iron who followed his lead. —Rich- mond Times. The average of wrecks in the Baltic Sea is one a day throughout the year. Physicians’ carriages have the right of way in the streets of Ber lin. What Shall We Do. A serious and dangerous disease prc vails iu this country, dangerons because so deceptive. It comes On so slowly yet surely that it is often firmly seated before j we are aware of it. The name of this disease which may be divided into three distinct stages is. hirst. j Kidney trouble, indicated by pain in the j back, rheumatism, lumbago, frequent de- j sire to urinate, often with a burning sensu • tion, the flow of urine being copious orscant with strong odor. If allowed to advance, this reaches the; Second stage, or Bladder trouble, with j heavy pain in the abdomen low down be tween the navel and the water passage, increasing desire to urinate, with scalding sensation in passing small quantities be ing passed with difficulty, sometimes necessary to draw it with instruments. If uric acid or gravel has formed, it} will prove dangerous if neglected. The Third stage is Bright’s Disease. There is comfort in knowing that Dr. Kilmer, the great kidney and bladder specialist, has discovered a Remedy fam ous for its marvelous cures of the most distressing cases and known as Dr. Ki.- mer’s Swamp-Root. It is sold by all druggists. As a proof of the wonderful virtues of this great discovery, Swamp-Root, a sam ple bottle and book of valuable informal tion will bo sent absolutely free by mail on application to Dr. Kilmei & Vo., Binghamton N. There was a legal paper picked up on the farm of ’Squire Farris* at Cassville one day last week that no doubt was blown there from the scene of horror in Alabama, and it was written by this same Lewis Coffey, who was a justice of the peace in 1890, the date of its execution. It is an old fi fa of “Rolley Jenkins vs. Wm. Parnell,” for a few dollars and a levy had been entered upon it. The paper was found on the laud of a justice of the peace, and as Coffey was a justice of the peace the affair makes a strange coinci dent. fkiih: Little Men and Women and Eabylard Magazines have been combined into a 32-page book and tho price reduced from SI.OO to 50c a year.
