THE FIRST BABY.
Its Coming Is Looked Torward to
With Both Joy and Tear and its
Safe Arrival is Hailed With
Pride and Delight by All.
The arrival of the first baby In th»
household is the happiest and most im
portant event of married life. The young
wife who is to become a motherdeliglits
to thinkof the happiness in store for her
when the little one shall nestle upon her
breast and latterly she shall hear it lisp
the sweet and holy name, “mother.”
Bother happy anticipation quickly van
ishes when she realizes the terrible pain
and suffering through which she must
pass while bringing the little one into
the world. An indescribable fear of the
danger attendant upon the ordeal soon
dissipates her joyfulm-ss.
Thousands «f wVnoen have learned
by experience that there is absolutely
no necessity for the sufferings which at
tend child-birth; they know that by
the use of “Mother’s Friend”—a scien
tific liniment —for a few weeks before
the trying hour, expectant mothers can
so prepare themselves for the final
hour tiiat the pain and suffering of the
dreaded event are entirely obviated and
it is safely passisl through with com
paratively little discomfort.
AH women are interested, and es-
pecially expectant mothers who for the
first time have to undergo this trial, i»
such a remedy ; for they know the pair
and suffering, to say nothing of the dan
ger, which is in store for them. “Moth
er’s Friend” is woman’s greatest bles
sing, for it takes her safely through thl
severest ordeal other life. Every womat

Cherokee Advance: Judging
from what we can gather from the
farmers of Cherokee this week,
they are iu better condition than
they have been in several years and
seem to be more hopeful and look
ing for better times in the future.
The farmers report more h iy being
saved in C-teaokee then was ever
known before, and more attention
is being given to h< g and cattle
raising. This clearly demonstrates
the fact that the furmers have
awakened to the realization that if
they would be prosperous they
must raise their supplies at home
instead of depending on 5-ceut
cotton to purchase them at the
Western and Northern markets.
The hay crop is fine, corn, peas,
potatoes, etc., are good, and with
an average crop of cotton at a
reasonable price, you may look for
better times in old Cherokee than
you have seen in many years.

RAW AS BEEF n
FROM ECZEMA!
No Torture Equal to the first symptoms of Eczema, but it is not long
before the little redness begins to itch ana
Itching and Burning ot lead to suffering and torture almost unen
durable. It is a common mistake to regard
Thic Cngrflll Hicogco * roughness and redness of the skin aa
I Hlw mi IUI UIoGuOC, merely a local irritation; it ia but an indica
tion of a humor in the blood—of terrible
Eczema—which is more than skin-deep, and can not be reached by local appli
cations of ointments, salves, etc., applied to the surface. The disease itself,
the rest cause of the trouble, is in the blood, although all suffering ft produced
through the skin; the only way to reach the disease, therefore, ia through
the blood.
Mr. Phil T. Jones, of Mixersville, Ind., writes:
“I had Eczema thirty years, and after a great deal
of treatment my leg was so raw and sore that it gave me fL JjjJfll
constant pain. It finally broke into a running sore, and
began to spread and grow worse. For the past five or
aix years I have suffered untold agony and had given up
all hope of ever being free from the disease, as I have ft ? 'Wr
been treated by some of the best physicians nnfl have £■
taken many blood medicines, all in vain. With little fa •JLjfc
faith left I began to take S. 8. 8., and it apparently
made the Eczema worse, but I knew that this was the §§j?i
way the remedy got rid of the poison. Continuing
8. 8. 8., the sore healed up entirely, the skin, became
clear and smooth, and I was cured perfectly.” ’w —•*
Eczema is an obstinate disease and can not be cured by a remedy which it
only a tonic. Swift’s Specific—
S. S. S. FOR THE BLOOD
— is superior to other blood remedies because it cures diseases whieh they o*a
rot reach. It goes to the bottom —to the cause of the disease — and will eare
the worst case of Eczema, no matter what other treatment ha* failed. It i*
the only blood remedy guaranteed to be free from potash, mereury or any
other mineral, and never fails to cure Eciema, Scrofula, Contagious Blooa
Poison, Cancer, Tetter, Rheumatism, Open Sores, Ulcers, Boils, etc. . Insist
upon S. S. S.; nothing can take its place. ’
