died Saturday and his remains were in
terred at Bethabara Monday.

pleted a course in telegraphy, at New
man, spent the week end with his father
here before leaving for Greenville,

Prof. Quinton R. Williams, who has
run a successful school at Luxomni for
the past six months, has vacated until
July. He passed through Lawrence
ville this week en route to his home in
Forsyth county.
Mr. P. M. Christian leaves today for
Marietta, where he will visit his parents
before going to Kingstrce, S. C. Mrs.
Christian will remain here, and in
Marrietta a month before joining him
in their new home.
Hon. R. E. Davidson, of Atlanta,
chairman of the prison commission,
visited the Gwinnett convict camp re
cently and pronounced it among if not
the best in the state. This was a high
compliment to our warden and com
missioners.
On account of so much sickness in
our community, the all-day singing at
McKendree, scheduled for April 9th,
has been indefinitely postponed. Those
interested will please take notice and
govern themselves accordingly.

T. L. Harris, who uses a motorcycle
in carrying the mail on route No. 4,
came near having a serious accident a
few days ago. His machine caught on
fire from an explosion and the rider’s
olothing was likewise ignited. His
hands were burned in extinguishing
the flames and he lost his hat in the
meantime and had to come in bare
headed.
Mr. Frank Herrington, who resides
near Duluth, came to Lawrenceville
Monday morning and was married in the
court house to Mrs. Caroline Garmon,
Judge G. G. Robinson performing the
ceremony. This makes the fourth
matrimonial venture for Uncle Frank
and the third for his wife. He is sev
enty-one years old and Mrs. Herrington
is sixty-four.
