Petitioners, together with their as sociates, desire to be incorporated under the name and style of “The In dependent Order of the Patrons of Agriculture” for the period of twen ty years, with the right to renew said charter at the expiration of said time. The object of said cbrporatoih is not pecuniary gain, but that we, the In dependent Order of the Patrons of Agriculture, are by the strong and faithful ties, set forth the following as our declarations of intentions, under said corporation. 2nd. To make country life less lonely and more fraternal; to bring the brethern togetherto study the valuable lessons of charity, morality and brotherly love, 3rd.
