Ho is now at work, hunting for this valuable treasure, and has sunk a considerable shaft. AVe wish him good luck, but think he will be digging there when ‘Gabriel blows his liumpet,” ere he will realize his hearts affection. A WORD OF ADVICE. We would just remark to our school children that in promulgat ing your esoterie cogitaions. or articulating your superficial senti mentalities and amicable, philo sophical or psychological observa tions, beware ol platitudinous ponderosity. LeZ your conversa tional communications possess a clarified conciseness, a compared comprebeusibleness, coalescent consistency, and a concatenated cogency. Eschew all conglomera tions of flatulent garrulity, jejuni babblement and asinine affections. Let youi extemporaneous disraut* ings and unpremeditated expatia tions have intelligibility and vera cious vivacity, without rhodomon taie or thrasonical bombast. Sed ulously avoid all polysyllabic pro fuudity, pompous prolixity, psit taceous vacuity, ventriloquial ver bosity, and vaniloquent vapidity. Shun double entendres, prurient jocosity, and pestiferous profanity' obscurant or apparent. 1 n other words, talk plainly, briefly, natur ally, sensibly, truthfully, purely. Keep fro n “slang” don’t put tn airs; say what you mean; mean what you say. And don’t use big words! DEATH OF G W F. CRAIG /Ibout two weeks since Mr. Cra>g was taken sick while on a visit to Decatur.
