w an(.B to know who is Hit; young
est Confederate soldier now liv
ing. Mr.- Isaac T. Miller of
MillegeVille will probably fill
the bill. He enlisted March,
1861. He was Mi years old. He
belonged to Col. Pete Turney’s
First Tennessee regiment, Cant.
H. .1. Hawkins’ compnny. He
was in twenty-one battles and
was captured at Gettysburg,
making Picketts famous charge.
He refused to take tl e oath and
was kept in prison. He is one
of Milledgeville's best citizens,
is reconstructed now, but takes
deep interest is the meeting- of
old Confeperate soldiers.
A FEW REASONS.
Why church members should
attend church every Lord sdny.
Motto: One good reason is
enough.
1. The Lord's Disciples “must
Dot neglect the assembling of
themselves. ” —Heb. x:25.
2. The Lord’s day has been
sanctified and seperately set
apart for the worship of God in
the public assembly of the
saints. Every disciple snail be
present.
8. The Lord’s Supper—em
blematic of His broken body
and shed blood—is there spread
as a a sweet memorial feast on
which your soul should feed and
live.
4. Tfie Lord’s Messenger—
the preacher —stalids there with
a message to you from God
just the message you need.
•‘How shall he preach without
a hearer?”
5. The Lord’s Church there
assembles as a training school
for life and heaven. Being a
desciple, you are a pupil, and
ought not to miss a single les
son.
f>. The Holy Spirit—the
Sw« et. Comforter is ever present
in 1 lie assembly of the saints
John xiv: IC*, 17.
7. That sweet pers mil fel
lowship with you, brother, in
Christ, is so helpful to tlm
weary heart, is found in its
highest realization in associated
congregational worship.
K. Regularity and prompt
ness in attendance upon nil tile
services of the Lord s House are
the most powerful und efficient
meuns of growth and grave.
if. That stored, solemn
pledge you publicly made to
your Master w hen you engaged
to serve Him, compels you to
attend whenever possible. —Se-
lected.

Town Talk.
The Public Aroused
During the Past
Week.
CROWDS OF PEOPLE CALL
ED AT A. M. WINN & SON S
DRUG STORE, TO GET
FREE SAMPLES OF
Dr. Hobbs Spara
gus Kidney Pills.
HUNDREDS NOW TESTING
THE REMEDY IN THIS
VICINITY.
Now For Results.
An intense interest was crea
ted in this vicinity by the an
nouncement in last weeks issue,
I hat a free package of I>r.
Hobbs Sparagufi Kidney Pill*
would lie given away many per
son would call and ask for it at
A. M. Winn A Son’s Drug
Store.
This interest was shown by
the unexpectedly numerous
calls "made at the above store.
Many «>f the callers, who are
sufferers from kidney com
plaiuts, expressed their aston
ishment at the offer to make no
charge for the samples. Here
tofore, the practice of medicine
proprietors is to require pay in
advance, and let the atllicted
take the chance of cure.
The proprietors of Dr. Hobbs
Sparugus Kidney Pills are re
versing this practice, pieferrinp
to exercise the golden rule of
“doing to others ns they would
be done by.”
They believe, because it has
been demonstrated in every in
stance, that if those affected
with kindney troubles once try
these pills, they will he con
vinced of their great merit, and
get well by their use.
For this reason they made ar
rmigements with A. M. Winn A'
Son to freely distribute as many
sample boxes as should be call
ed for during the last seven
days. Everyone who asked for
a box was given it free of
charge.
Some of those calling lor
packages, have expressed them
selves as follows:
“The science of medicine has
certainly advanced when the
proprietors of a remedy cun
stake ho much upon a free and
universal lest of its merits. ’*
“The honest and straightfor
ward manner in which the med
icine is offered for trial, gives
me confidence to use it. I hope
it will prove helpful.”
“Dr. Hobbs aiiuoiuieeineiit
that he bus made a great, dis
covt ry which will cure and
build up the kidneys, and his
offer to prove it free of charge
is a novel proposition, and gives
me great hope of relief.“
This is certainly a fair prop
osition. I have everything to
win and nothing to lose.”
Muiiy will he curious to know
what are the results of the test
of the pills now going on in the
neighborhood. It is a little too
soon to look for results, proba
bly another will make them
known. If those getting the
samples have faithfully followed
the directions, they will he en
couraged to persevere in their
use.
It is gratifying to learn that
wherever similar distributions
have taken place, there has fol
lowed a large sale of the remedy
and many letters of gratitude
have been written by those who
have lost health.
Every person who knows or
suspects that his kidneys or
uninary passages are affected;
every person who bus any of the
following syniptons, should
make a test of these pills with
out delay, viz:—Pains in the
Rack or Hides, Heachache, Ner
vousness. Frequent Thirst,
Shortness of Ureath, Puffiness
of tho Eyelids, Swelling of the
Feet and Ankles, Dark Colored
or Scanty Urine, with albumi
nous or other deposits in the
uriue, or too frequent urina
tiou.
