- Our article some time ago on the
needs of a canning factory for Folk
ston attracted considerable attention
buc the matter seems Lo be quiet
just now, which should not be.
Folkston is getting to the place
where she not only needs factories,
but must have them, Some of the
surplus money now practically lying
idle should be put into a canning
factory.” A market would then be
established for vegetables, Our
farmer friends would be encouraged
to raise more produce for sale, A
factory being established of all
home capital would not only keep
money here but would bring money
in from the outside. It would give
employment to people here as well
as others that come in from the out.
side. Every dollar earned and
kept here enriches the section one
bundred per cent. The recent panic
conditions in money mattery clearly
illustrates the necessity of this sec
tion being on an independent foot
ing. Anything raised here and
turned into money and the money
kept here, is a public benefit, and
fiauty of cach citizen in the com
mubity is to bend every effort to
wards establishing industries that
X
will furnish employment to all. ‘
