Crews called at the Herald office Monday and ordered the Herald sent to his address. Dr. J. V. Seigler, of Jacksonville, will be here next Tuesday and Wed nesday., See his card on another page. ' Mr, H. J. Davis is putting the materia) on the ground for a $4,000 dwelling just south of the School house. Mr, J. W. Vickery bought the new two story dwelling last week of T. A. W, Nash, ot St. George, was a pleasant caller at the Herald office last Friday and gave us a sub scription for a year, De. C. Medliu was at Folks ton Tuesday attending to business connected with the P. 0,, and while hete made the Herald a.pleasant call Mr. Jacob A. Mr. Dave Mizell has sold his farm near Traders Hill for $855 to Mr, Thomas Holdt, of Wilcox County, the consideration being cash, Mr. Holdt will start a cattle ranch there. Those whose intention it is to en ter the race for any of the county offices had better get their cards in. Howard remembered the editor Tuesday with a bunch of the finest onions we have seen this season Mr, Howard seems to be a banner gardener and knows how to farm as well as make laws. As we go to press the court is en gaged 1n the trial of the two negroes from Uptonville for murder, there being no chance to secure a jury before tomorrow morning in the case of Joe Petty and others. Judge Bob Frohock, of Camden County, spent Sunday here, making a nice little talk to the Sunday Bchool in which he took occasion to say that very few Sunday School boys are in the penitentiary. The Judge presided over the civil court for Judge Scott, the twn sitting on the bench with dignity, The announcement of Mr, 3B Baker for Tax collector will be found in another column. Mr, Baker is well known in this County and commauds the respect and confidence of the people, is ful }.! competent and makes a model of cer, having served the county as surveyor and given satisfaction in establishing dim linss and thereby wettling disputes of long standing.
