The schoof gardening movement,
which i 3 growing so rapidly in the
United States, has tiot only proved
mo’st Intéresting and instructive to the
children, but bas been a great help in
improving and beaitifying towns and
citles. Waste places and school yirds
bave been transformed ivitly flowvers,
éyesotes effickd by vines and shiubs,
and In some towwns depots and public
grounds that spoiled the appearance
of towns were greatly chauged for the
bette by the entliusiastic yvoung hor
ticulturists. Speaking on this stilject
at a meeting of the North Texas
Tedchers’ associdtion, 8. A. Miner said

Wilson, night watchman for the
Coast Line in Savannah, was fatally
injured, by attempting 10 cross the
railicad track between two cars
when suddenly the cars moved
throwing him underneath, He only,
lived a short time, death claiming
him on Friday at ten o'cleck. He
had been with the company twenty
yeats and was about sixty years old,
