VanVoounis as instrucs tors. 4 ~ Prof. VanVoorhis opened the sub< ject of arithmetic dealing in a vcr}é iateresting and instructive manner,}' with true and bank discount. g Prof. Mallard followed on the snlij ject of making arithmetic practical in our common schools, a strong in terest was arcused on the subject. Prof. VanVoorhis occupied the next period on teachers ihfluence and aunthority. - In the afternoon a preliminary test on arithmetic was given, j ~ Tuesday morning after roll call, | L. T. Parker opened discussion on: the teaching of simple numbers fol lowed by Prof. VanVoorhis and: Prof. Mallard.
