#“What is a dollar, anyvhow?”
The question is an easy one to ans
wer. A dollar is what some men
promise to pay for thwit country
paper. Itis sometling a newspaper
man enjoys more in anticipatiuni
than in reality. It is the price of ai
day's work for some mex and asingle
night’s drink for others. It s’
what the wife frequentiy needs, but
seldom has. It is the power that
makes or unmakes men [t is the
hardest thing to set and the easiest
thing to get rid'n', ktown to man
kind. Itis a blessihg in a small
measure and a curse in many inst:
ances. It is mighty and scarce,
No man ever had more thin he want
