Mr. and Mre. B F. Alexander
have retvrned from a visit from
Tatnall ceunty, where they went to
visit relatives and attend the Camp
Meeting annually held in that good
county. They are enthused over
the prospect of a bounteous crop
there and say that the local bank
ers are arranging to handle the
cotton crop, and will let farmers
have money at the regular rate of
interest if they want to hold cot
ton.

State Sets Tax Rate.
The tax rate of the state having
been set at 4.80 we can now figure
up just what our taxes are to be
The county tax iz 5 mills, as are
the Folkston and St, George school
districts, and the city tax of said
towns are also 5 mills, The other
districts have not announeed their

Prof. Whitein charge, is antipating
one of its mosv successful terms.

representing the Witham Banks,
spent last Friday here looking over

The farmers of this section met
T'uesday morning at 9:00 o’clock
and elected permanent officers and
formed an organization known as
“The Georgia and Florida Straw
berries Growers Association ”’
Mr. T. K. Waldrup, Industrial

was present and gave timely, and
helpful advice in perfecting the or
ganization There has been about
50 acres p edged to be planted to
strawbcrries this year, and more
