Rodgers=Norman Wedding
a Brilliant Affair
Characterized by beauty and
simplicity was the wedding of last
Thursday afterroon of Miss Fan
nye Rodgers, tue charming daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rodgers
and Mr. Lesjie Norman, which
was solemnized at 5 o'clock at the
Methodist church. Rev. L. -E.
Williams, pastor of the church,
performed the ceremony.
The cliurch was a veritable
hower of greenery intermingled
with bjue hydrangers. Tail white
tapers shed a soft glow over the
scene, {
Preceding the ceremony Miss:

and Bercuse, Miss Mallie Bedell
sang Dawning, accompanied by
Miss Pearce, ‘
To the strains of the wedding
march, Lohengrin, the wedding
party entered. The grocmsmen,
Ben Rodgers, brother of the bride;
and Mr. Rupert Johnson of Jack
sonville, followed by the brides
maids; Misses Helen Mizell and
Marion Pearce of Folkston. Then
came the flower girls, Mary Edon
Rodgers, sister of the bride and
Kathlesn Stapleton, .
The bride ani maid of honor,
Miss Annette Tvrnef of Sylvanie,
Ga., were met at the altar by Mr.
Norman and the best man, Mr.
Johnay Geiger 6*McClenney, Fla,,
and the ring ceremony was im-fl
pressivelv performed.
Maid of honor, Miss Annette
Turner, wore a lovely dress of
pink taffeta with pictrre hat to
match and carried an arm bouquet
of pink rose buds. Miss Helen
Mizell wore a deinty dress of ca
nary chiffon with picture bat to
match and carried anarm bouquet
of deeo pink carnations. Miss
Marion Pearce was dressed in a
beautiful orchid chiffor with pie
ture hat to mateh, she carried an
arm bouquet of piuk carnations

dress of white georgette with
a large white picture hat aud ac
cessories to mateh, carcyiag o
showcr bouquet of bride’s roses
ana valley lilies.

be impossible for him to be here

bride and groom from the chureh,
Immediately after the ceremony
an informal recepfion was held at
the home of the bride’s parents
where punch, ice cream and cake
was served. The wedding gifts
were a beautiful array of valua
ble presents from the relativeg‘
and friends of this popula r youn
couple.
Mr. and M'rs Norman left for a
wedding trip to Florida after
which they will reside in McClen
ney, Fla, where Mr, Norman is en
gaged in the automobile business.

Taken Over By Board
The county board of education
al its meeting last week directed
the superintendent to ascertain
the changes necessary to be made
in the building formerly occupied
by the Folkston Consolidated
School and the equipment neces
saro to be added so thatthe Charl
ton County High School will have
snitable quarters. The approxi
mate cost is to be reported cover
ing o period of three years. This
action was taken witha view of
beginning work just as soon as
minor details relative to the title
to the properly are adjusted.
We are always glad to see boys ‘

worthwhile and learning some-l
thing as they go along. We are
proud ta know that James Askew
is working in the Folkston Phar
macy and Thomas Askew is with
Watson & James. They are the
sons of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Askew.

At the close of a recent revival
in the Central Baptist church,
Americus, Ga., in woich Mr, Wat
son directed the musie, the week
ly bulletin of that church, in aps
preciation of bis work, <eid in
part, as follows.
