What Are They
Going To Do?

Atlanta, Ga., Augusr I—With
only th.ee more weeks left the
1927 Georgia Legisirture will face
a crowded caiendar. The anti
Hardman faction in the Senate are
beginning to realize that their
constituents back home are ask
ing for the enactment of reform
measures of the present adminis-
Jration. According to statéements
made here today in the retunda of
the state, capitol, many senators
find themselves faeing stiff oppo
sition to their tactics in blocking
measuces advocated by Governor
Hardman, It was pointed out
that in the last election the voters
exoressed their choice for Gov
ernor and sanctioned the elimina~
tion of John Holder on the high
way board,
Gov Hardman has submitted
tw> names to the senate, neither
of which have been confirmed
This, in a way, is contrary to the
expressed views of the voters of
this state. It appears that the
senalte hus assumed the attitude
of being czaristic and have 110 de
sire to co-operate with the gov=
ernor. This position is nndemo
cratic ard is a detriment to the
wellare of Georgia. Just as long
as we have petty polities and fac
tionalism Georgia will never get
anywhere in constractive legisla'l

The state's institutions are suf
fering, the highway department
is ready for re-organization, and
many other needeq reforms that]
are essential in the growth and
development of Georgia are being
blocked. The tax question, which
has for time immemuria) been the
chief topic of discussion at the
