day in Jacksonville,

R. I, having sailed for New York
on the Cherokee, Wednesday.
Mrs. Richards, of South Florida,
is visiting at the home of her
sister, Mrs. Noah Stokes at Toledo.
Mrs, Jim Brown spent the past
week visiting at the home of ner
grandparents, the H. M. Gooden’s,
Mr. and Mrs. H. Wilkes and
Nolan were visiting at the home
of relatives near Jacksonville

ford has purchased the John

Mrs. Charles Bussy and three
lovely children are visiting at the

Mr. and Mrs, N. J. Norman and
William Arnold went to Jackson
ville Monday. Mrs. Norman and
William Arnold remained for a
yisit with relatives there.

spent the week end in St. George
Mr. Shreaves is working in Jack
sonville but expects to be in St

Our schoul opens on Monday

ed from a visit to Alachua,Florida
She was accompanied home by

children of Alachua, whoremained
for a short visit at the Fountain

Mr. and Mrs. Lesliec Norman
spent Sundey at Amelia Beach
in company with relatives from
Folksten. Mrs, Norman visited
last week at tne home of her
parents, Mr, and Mrs. Rodgers at
folkston and returned home
Sunday evening.
Miss Jane Quaterman arrived
donday evening but left Tuesday
merning for Folkston for the
teachers conference. Others

Mr. S. T, Cockreillhas been hav
ing a serious time with his hand
which became infected from a
sliver in one of the fingers. His
finger was lanced and it is reported
that his hand had to be lanced
and drained. His conaiton the
first of the week was slightly

ted Judge of the Superior Courts of the
Waycross Circuit by Govdnor Hardman
to serve until Jan. 1, 1929. The person
to fill the remainder of the unexpired
term beginning Jan. 1929 and running
two years, must be selected at the gen
eral election in November. and the
nominee of the Democratic Party for
this office will be named in the primary

came to me without any solicitation on
my part, and I belleve was made upon
