The student body, with the con
sent and approval of the members
of the teaching force, unanimously
voted Mo..day to adopt a standard
ring for the school. All agree to
use this ring for four years. The
design was worked out by a com
miftee from each class in confer
ence with the Superintendent anc
Mr. Charles O. Baird of Atlanta,
representing the Star Engraving
Co., of Houston, Texas. The face
of the ring wiill be a background
of blue enamel with raised gold
figures representing Indian reiics,
typical of the early inhabitants of
the Okefenokee swamp and th:!
makers of the many mounds in
different parts of the counly. Sur-i
mounting a scrol] will be the word
Georgia with a ciagonal bearing
the words Cnarlton County andi
the letters H. S.at the bottom.
On the sides of the shank will be}
embléms ‘*ypical of Sir Gelahad
and the Knights of the Round Ta
ble and the class year. These
emblems signify the ideals for
which the school has and will
stand, each class having looked at
the picture of Sir Gallahad daily
since ‘entrance into high ‘schoel,
and all being required to study his
life and exploits. The ring is a
real work oi sit and marks anoth
er advance in school spirit.
