And in the same breath we give fervent thanks for same. We understood that the adjournment of school was almost entirely a precauctionary move. \lt was thought unwise to begin school in face of a threatened epe !demic wlen all other schools in the country had seen fit to ad journ, 3 - Dr, Prescott has stated time and again that he had but one houn est to goodness case of fiu and that was on the Florida side. Dr Prescott states that he is dismiss g all cases on the Fiorila side, and characterized them as coids ana bilous spells, with the excep tion of one or two cases of pneu monia. Also one or two pneu monia cases at Maoniac, all of which have responded nicely to serum trealment, For St. George locality there have heen no serious cases in town. Several families through the country have been ill with colds but the cases are not under stgod to be flu and all are le covering promptly, One lady suggests that the cases are most lv colds, brought on from a bilious conditioe as a result of to much pork eating at hog kiliing time, and we expect she is about cor vect. It 1s to be regretted that more did not avail themselves of the op p r'unity atforded by Miss Thomas visit here, for, so far as we know. this is the the first time a ‘public tea!th nurse has been in the vi cinity. Miss Thomas brought some work for girls of school age, which t 5 one from the outside listening in, sounded interesting. Kowever we are not qualifieu to speak of the matter and it is in the hands «f the proper authorities, and will be brought up in due time.
