Woman’s Foreign
Missionary Society
it was in encouraging sight
on Monday at’t'-fn.oon, to see so
tnan.y of our members in atten¬
dance upon our regular monthly
meeting; * nd member
.one new
was most cordially welcomed
among us. The topic for the
meeting was “What We Propose
to do and, and What We Have
Done.’’ Under this head, the
following facts were brought
out. Pirst engaged in the work
of the W- 1<\ .M. 8., are 7,150
women, whiie the vast number
of 80.000 women and young girls,
are entirely indifferent to the
call of this organization. These
figures apply to the women and
girls who constitute the member¬
ship of the Methodist church
within the bounds of the South
Georgia Conference alone.
Second. -The weakest point our
foreign missionary work, is the
lack of interest onjthe part of the
girls and young women of the
church. And this fact ought to
be a cause for concern, when we
consider that almost exclusively,
from this clas.' must come our
recruits for the distant fields.
Third.*"While the South Georgia
Conference W. F. M. S., raised
last year #28.2(5*2,06 for woman’s
work, wo propose, under God’s
blessing, to raise the coining year
$31,000.00, and to-pray earnestly
that Cod will lay this great work
upon the hearts of bur young
women and girls of the Metho¬
dist churchy as never before.
In behalf of uur lady manager
of the .Juvenile Missionary
Society, we appeal to the parents
to give her your aid by sending
your children to join this juvenile
society, and by doing your share
towards keeping them interested
in its work.
