Miss Gray Entertained
One of the most delightful of
the season’s large social affairs
was the reception given Tuesday
afternoon by Miss Leta Gray in
honor of her friend Mrs Hingson
of Oxford, Ala.
TT5e a11 racti ve home was dark*
ened for the occasion and waxen
tapers in cut glass candelabra
shed a soft radiance over the
scene- The front hall and parlors
were most charming in their
decorations of palms and cut
llawers. The mantels were
banked with ferns and roses, a
profusion of pink and white
blossoms being used.
The punch bowl was presided
overby Messrs Harris Neil and
Lynwood Gray. It is unneces¬
sary to say that this proved a
m o s t attractive rendezvous
during the afternoon.
Quotations from well known
authors was the interesting game
played. At the conclusion of the
game it was decided to draw for
the prize, the fortunate winner
being Miss Mamie Miller.
Mrs Fred Shepard and Miss
Clarence Houser added much to
the enjoyment of the guests by
the vendition of several delight¬
ful musical numbers during the
afternoon
The color motif pink, green and
white was carried out in the
dainty refreshments, delicious
salad and ice courses being
served to about fifty guests
Miss Leta Gray was charming
in pink crepe de chine ovex
taffeta. The guest of honor Mrs.
Hingson was beautiful in white ,
messaline sateen over white silken
train her only ornaments being
diamonds. This young matron
made many friends here during
a former visit as Miss Elleree
Haynes. ,
