WOMON’S MISSIONARY
SOCIETY, M. E. CHURCH.
The Prisons in Korea are said to
o full of natives, practically ail tii.
:ading Christians being in jail, and
ii-, notwithstanding tne demonstra
mns in favor of independence have
■eased. Another report is that
thousands of native Christians have
ieen killed by the Japanese. The
Korean supreme court has confirmed
he lower court in the case of Rev.
i’li Miller Mowry, a Presbyterian
ninister. He was sentenced to pay
\ fine of 100 yen or go to prison for
wenty days, and was given thirty
lays in which to decide. He is
barged with sheltering Korean ag
.ators.
The Board of Foreign Missions of
ne Methodist Episcopal Church has
ippropriated the sum of ten million
dollars of its centenary money for
oreign missions and reconstruction
rtyk abroad for the year 1920. This
s the largest sum ever appropriated
, any one denomination for work
this character at one time..
Every Twelfth person in the
nited States is a Methodist, says
Che Christian (N. Y.) Advocate.
vVhat'a responsibility is on the Meth
idists for saving the lost men and
women and children in this country
f ours. Are we on the job as we
should be?
OUR QUESTIONS WITH MYSELF
1. How long would it take to
lake my community really Christian
if every other follower of Christ
vorked at it and prayed about it just
is I do?
2. How long would it take to
nake my whole nation really Ohris
:ian if all Christians gave their
jrayers and efforts and money
oward it just as I am doing?
3. How long would it take to
make disciples of all the nations if
all other Chnstians were to give this
great program of Chirist the place
in their lives that it has in mine?
4. Have I any moral right to ex¬
pect or demand of other Christians,
or even of preachers and tnission
aries, any service or sacrifice for
Christ that I am. unwilling to give
myself?
The work of winning the world to
Christ is my work as really and as
fully as it is the work of any one else. J 1
Let me not avoid or shirk it.— J.
Campbell White.
