CHICAGO PHONE GIRLS
TAKE UP BASKET BALL.
Basketball, probably the greatest
of indoor games, has become exceed¬
ingly popular with the young women
of the Windy City, and already sev¬
eral teams have been formed by Tel¬
ephone Girls of the City. At the Y.
W. C. A., Chicago, on the night of
Jan. 3 ,there will be played a game
between the girls’ team of the Chi¬
cago Telephone Co.’s Service Depart¬
ment and a team composed of Chica¬
go show girls, that promises to be a
rip-snorter. Both teams are practis¬
ing daily at the Y. W, C. A. for the
big game. Here is shown pretty Miss
Kittie Leckie, a member of one of the
teams, about to “shoot” a basket.

MISSTATEMENT MADE
ABOUT “ORANGE-CRUSH. *»
Literary Digest Frankly Corrects
Editorial Inadvertence Made
In October 30 Issue.
An editorial injustice to the well
known .drink, Orange-Crush,
tentlv made by The Literary
in its October 30 number, has been
fully retracted by the publishers in
an article appearing December 4.
The error was made in a short edi
torial preface to the reprint of an
article from the U. S. Public Health
Reports on the subject of « • Fake j
Orange Drinks.” Although this ar
tide was not directed against Oange
Crush, which derives all its flavor
from the oil, juice and acid of actual
oranges, yet the editorial drink preface by ‘
i mistakenly included the '
name in the following language: 1
‘Orangeade’ and ‘orange crush ,
that never came nearer to an orange
PALE PEOPLE
Ziron is a tonic medicine for pale, weak, nervous people. Its suc¬
cess in the treatment of conditions of simple anemia and general debility
has been shown in thousands of cases of men, women and children.
Ziron contains no dangerous, habit-forming drugs. It is a safe, mild
Ionic, compounded in accordance with modern medical science, by
chemists of high pharmaceutical skill.
The Scientific Iron Tonic
Many men and women, grateful for the benefits they have obtained,
write about Ziron, hoping their experiences may be helpful to others.
<• I was very nervous; had bad headaches, loss of appetite and could not
sleep well at night,” writes Mrs. Laura F. Smith, of Route 1, Springfield,
Tenn. “My husband bought a bottle of Ziron, and I began taking It and
began to pick up. I think it is a very good tonic for run-down people.
My little boy was thin, and looked very pale and delicate. I gav« him
Ziron, and he mended up and is looking fine. »t Sold by druggists on a
