of the shovel. This packing after
soil is placed on the chemical is im¬
portant in order to prevent surface
loss of the gas and to prepare a
mound which serves as a container
for the gas. This mound also pre¬
vents surface washing of the crys¬
tals. Avoid pushing the crystals
against the tree trunk with the first
shovelful of soil when covering the
ring.
LATER ATTENTION TO THE
MOUNDS: In using paradichloroben¬
zene around four and five year old
peach trees growers are advised to
tear down the mounds twenty-eight
days after applying the chemical to
trees of those ages in order to re¬
move all unspent crystals and to al¬
low the confined gas to escape. As *n
added precaution against injury to
the older trees it is also advisable to
tear down the mounds six weeks aft¬
er making the application to trees six
years of age and older. If the soil is
removed from below the original soil
level in tearing down the mounds it
should be replaced before cold weath¬

POPULAR BIBLE
CLASS NOTES
The types of Jesus Christ in the
I Book of Genesis are Adam, Melchi
Izedek, Isaac, and Joseph.
Genesis has two main divisions or
parts. Part One is composed of the
first 11 chapters and covers a period
of 2,000 years, while Part Two is
made up of chapters 12 to 50 and
covers 350 years. This shows us that
the period of 350 years is far more
important from the author’s point of
view than the preceding 2,000 years.
A parallel contrast is found in the
four Gospels where four chapters are
given to the first thirty years of
Christ’s life, while eighty-five are
given to His last three and a half
years.
In the Book of Genesis there are
four dispensations or ages. The Age
of Innocency, from the creation of
man to the fall; the Age of Con¬
science, from the fall to the flood;
the Age of Human Government,
from the flood to Abraham; and the
Age of Promise, from Abraham to
the Law. A dispensation or an age
is a “period of time during which
man is tested in respect of obedience
to some specific revelation of the
will of God.”
The leading persons in the Book
of Genesis are Adam, Noah, Abra¬
ham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. It is
clear that Abraham is the central
figure of the book, chapters 12: 1
to 25: 10 being devoted to him.
The Book of Genesis gives us the
origin of the earth beneath and the
starry heavens above, the story of
man’s creation and his place
in the world, the unity of the human
race sprung from one pair and the
of sin into their hearts, the
beginning of the Hebrew people and
the purpose for which God called
them. These are some of the great
fundamentals which are found in
this wonderful book.
Part I. This section of the book
consists of the first II chapters. The
two central persons are Adam the
head of the original race and Noah
the head of the new race.
Part I may be outlined as follows:
1. The Creation, Chapters 1, 2.
2. The Fall, Chapters 3, 4.
3. The Flood, Chapters 5-9.
4. The Nations, Chapters 10, 11.
Next week we shall study the story
of the Creation.
