! 5.JU C~Z ' j Read the new legal ads. If the Tifton Gazette will allow us, we’ll say "pass.” The lady editress of tlie Adel News is getting out a good paper, and it is eagerly read at this office. ‘‘Tom Wilson, Treasurer,” over at Fitzgerald, is no bug-eater, We like the way Tom slings his pencil. Mr. 1). C. Ilall, ol Fitzgerald, and J. O. Sutton, of Ocilla, were in town Sunday and Monday.—Adel News. The Savannah News easily takes rank as the best morning daily in Georgia, and wiregrais Georgia swears by it. The farmers of Georgia bought 400,000 tons of guano, representing a cost of $8,000,000. It will be less this season. The Valdosta Times prints the names of cash subscribers as they come in. We would like to do the same, but space forbids. Mr. S. I. Watson, one of lower Berrien’s brightest and best young men is now attending the , Institute , ■ , at Abbeville.—B. C. News. Before the discovery of One Min ute Cough Cure ministers were greatly disturbed by’ coughing con¬ gregations. No excuse for it now. Luke & Ashley. The lumber is being placed on the ground for building to and im¬ proving the old court bouse. It is to be fitted up for use as a hotel by its owner, Dr. Gooodman.—B. (J. News. “Give me a liver regulator and I can regulate the world,” said a genius. Tho druggist handed him a bottle of DeWitt’s Little Early Kisers, the famous liver pills. Luke it Ashley. Mrs. Lewis Wilcox, of Irwin county, and Miss Mary McCrim mon, of Mount Vernon, are visiting the family of I)r. D. F. mon on Gordon street.—Rochelle New Era. Which is the nearest nothing, a walking cane, or the dude who car¬ ries it?—Adel News. We never could show up well as a guesser; but we don’t mind saying the cane is to be pitied. h or a quick remedy and one that is perfectly safe for children let us recommend One Minute Cough < Jure. It is excellent for croup, hoarseness, tickling in the throat and coughs. Luke & Ashley. Elder Matthew Sikes contributed a very sound, logical article to last week’s Ocilla Dispatch under the caption of “Woman.” It was a beautiful tribute to the feminine sex.—Telfair Enterprise. If you have a cough, throat irri¬ tation, weak lungs, pain in the chest, difficult breathing, croup or hoarseness, let us suggest One Min¬ ute Cough Cure. Always reliable and safe. Luke it Ashley. W. Henry brags about a log rolling he attended in Berrien last week. If he wants to attend a sure-enough log-rolling, let him amble up this way in June, and we’il show him what’s what! Not one child dies where ten for¬ merly died from croup. People have learned the value of One Min¬ ute Gough Cure and use it for severe lung and throat troubles. It im¬ mediately stops coughing. It never fails. Luke & Ashley. The following is a resolution of an Irish corporation: “That a new jail should be built, that this be done out of the material of the old one, and that the old jail be used until the new one is completed.” J. Sheer, Sedalia, Mo., conductor on electric street car line, writes that his little daughter was very low with croup and her life saved after all physicians had failed, only by using One Minute Cough Cure. Luke & Ashley. From April 2nd to 9th, inclusive, will be a great time in Albany, it being the occasion of tho eleventh annual session of the Georgia Chau¬ tauqua. The progam is the best yet gotten up. Attend if you can. For frost bites, burns, indolent sores, eczema, skin disease, and es pecmlly Files DeWitt’s Witch Ha zel halve stands first and best. Look out for dishonest people who try to imitate and counterfeit it. It’s their endorsement of a good article. Worthless goods are not imitated, Get DeWitt’s Witch Hazoi Salve, Luke it Ashley. A brilliant young j >urnnl : 8t of Ocilla goes often to Alapal.a these days. It is a rare an 1 touching sight to sec the young follow dili gently in the footstep ; of their pa rents.—Tifton Gazette. What a knowing young man! Jim Freeman, over at Douglas, has an eye to the dead as well as the living. When a subscriber pegs out from laughing at his fatal funny sayings, he is ready to clap a Parian marble shaft over him at about cost, an( j fling in a long obituary and a pj nt 0 f tears gratis, We regret to learn that Mr. E. W. Overstreet is suffering intensely w j t jj 8on)e affection of the eye and AV ;]] probably be compelled to have t j le member extracted. He has been suffering at intervals with (lie same eye for two or three years.— B. C. News. We learn since the above was been put in type, that Mr. Overstreet’s eye is improving As the season of the year wlien pneumonia, la grippe, sore throat, coughs, colds, catarrh, bronchitis and lung troubles are to bo guarded against,, nothing “is a fine substi l ute,” will “answer the purpose” or is “just as good” as One Minute Gough Cure. That is the one in f ., ]]jb]e remedy for al] ] angt throat or bronchial troubles. Insist vig orously upon having it if “some thing else is offered you. Luke & Ashley. llev. Eugene Sikes, of Dodge county, was in our office Tuesday and exhibited a model of a hay press of his own invention. It is one of the most ingenious and con¬ venient we have ever seen. Mr. Sikes is going to manufacture these presses for the market, and every farmer should have one.—Telfair Enterprise. Elder Sikos is a brother of Mrs. A. E. Hobbs, of this place, and has many friends in Irwin who wish him abundant success. No healthy person need fear any dangerous consequences from an at¬ tack of la grippe, if properly treated. It is much the same as a severe cold and requires precisely the same treatment. Remain quiet ly at home and take Chamberlain’s Cough Rem¬ edy as directed for a severe cold and a prompt and complete recovery is sure to follow. For sale by Luke & Ashley. The Times stated the other day that L. & B. F. Strickland had sold a large lot of cotton to H. F. Dutton & Co. The sale covers from 1800 to 2000 bales of long sta¬ ple cotton and the amount of money received for it was $102,409.99, which is one of the largest cash transactions ever closed here. It is understood that about 300 ar 400 more bales of cotton will be added to it.—Valdosta Times. The Atlanta Journal is just a little previous in declaring that the Flor¬ ida orange crop was killed by the blizzard. This is doubtless true as regards the northern and middle portions of the state, but according to the latest reports received, south Florida will have a fairly good crop. Such sweeping statements are calcu¬ lated to do more or less injury, and no good, except to raise the price of what oranges remain unsold.—-Tam¬ pa Tribune. Mr. Matthew Patten, of the Mill town neighborhood, was married on Sunday to Mrs. M. E. 'Peters at the residence of the bride in this city. The ceremony was performed about ten o’clock by Elder A. V. Simms. The groom is a prominent farmer of Berrien county’ and the bride is a widow of Lewis Pet¬ ers. Both of the contracting parties are well known thvoghout this sec¬ tion and have many friends to offer congratulations and good wihes.— Valdosta Times. LaCrippe Successfully Treated. “I have just recovered from the second attack of la erippe this year,” says Mr. Jas. A. Jones, Mexia, Tex. “In the latter case I used Cham¬ berlain’s Cough Remedy, and I think with considerable success, only being in bed a little over two days, against ten days for the mer attack. The second attack I alu satisfied would have been equally as bad as the first but for the use tb,s Jt . remed , ^’ as T 1 had . , to , S° to . , bed , 111 abollt Slx llours after bein - ‘struck’ with it, while in the first I was ablo to attend to busi ness about two days before getting down.” For sale by Luke & Ashley, i r 1 J* ei3//' A» l : m -3> WHY? ► £ Because your r ► Liver (■ B and t ... i Kidneys order. are ► 4 oat of DR.
