Joe Hall, who killed Marth Dlx on September 17, 1898, in Macon county, was found guilty and sen¬ tenced to be hanged on December 21, 1899. Robert Knowlton, who killed Green Bryant September 3, 1899, in the same county, was found guilty with recommendation. He was sent to the penitentiary for life. The woman goes by the name of Bowen, and is a professional tramp, For several yerrs she has been visiting the towns of ,, Georgia ,, and . She was in Dawson about a year ago and related the same sad story of desertion and a desire to reach relatives.
