Kissimmee Items. Kissimmee,Ga., Feb. 6.—We hear that Tom is now going down the road, and we know that is against •oraeone’s will. Hold up, Tom, and don’t be too fast or we will call you back to your recollections. Mr. T. L. Purvis visited Alapaha Saturday, returning home Sunday afternoon. Tonie believes that it would be better not to use so much diveriity, as a new writer stated last week, but you must not compare the young correspondents with the old Chris¬ tians. We believe that Ratcliff will vote for Bobby for agency,, but we don’t know so much about Rattletrap. Mr. Scott Mobley visited Mr. Hard Giddens, of Berrien county, last Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Oscar Purvis visited Valdosta last week, and while there made a pleasure trip down in Florida. We won’t say just now who went with him, for we don’t know exactly. We learned Sunday where Jim was g°’ n a loso °^ eu t ‘ owu r° a( l. Wonder why he doesn’t ask some one to go with him? Prof. R. B. Purvis, of Lax, vis¬ ited his Uncle Bobby last Saturday, returning home Sunday. Master Virgil and Miss Avy Burns visited many friends in this section Sunday last. Guess what boy and girl is ex¬ changing pictures with one another? Well, if the writer don’t know any of the particulars, ho will make a short guess at Arthur Mobley. Wright now has some new stu¬ dents in vocal music. Although he has «ot the time every day, he fills his appointments every Friday night. Tonie has handed the pen over to Rattletrap & Ratcliff, being that it was eo ill convenient to him. With best wishes to you all, Rattletrap & Ratcliff. There are rumors and rumors of candidates for county officers, and most of them will be heard from later. The following is too good to keep. An old widower stopped at a hotel recently and on leaving for¬ got to settle his bill till some dis¬ tance away. Returning, he said to the aimiable young lady in charge: “I was about to leave without pay¬ ing my bill.” To which she replied: “That would have been all right, as you will return tomorrow.” “But I might die,” said he. “Oh, well,” she answered, “the loss would be small anyway.” commit The o. w. suicide does not know whether to or go to South Africa. At Hynren’s Altar. Wednesday, at the residence of the bride’s parents, four miles from Ocilla, Rev. M. L. Lawson officiat¬ ing, Mr. L. L. Hall and Miss Mary Jane Harper were made man and wife. The bride looked lovely,in a dress of cream cashmere, trimmed in cream satin and chifon and white moire ribbon, with boucpiet of white hawthorn flowers, She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Harper and combines, in her person those admirable qualities which glorify womanhood and bless those around her. She is lovely and graceful, and enjoys the esteem of all who know her. The happy groom is one of the finest specimens of manhood in the county, and his many good qualities has drawn to him a host of friends who rejoice with him in his new¬ found happiness. After the wedding ceremony the guests were ushered into the spacious dining room, where a grand feast awaited them. Don’t ask us to name or describe the numerous dishes, or fine culinary skill displayed in their preparation. Ask Col. Martin, Rev. Lawson, T. B. Puckett, Clinton Harper, or any one of the crowd who attended. Any of them, not too full for utterance, will tell you CD »5 * CL- CTO co a— cro CO » ------ SAVANNAH, GA, COTTON FACTORS Experienced and Expert handlers of both Sea Island and Upland Cotton • Money loaned to Cotton Shippers on satisfactory se- curity. I say let me pay tax on my dog and make it an offense, w ith heavy pen- alty, fer any one tbat kills him. Also, if my dog kills sheep, make me pay for it. Tit for tat. My reasons are: Two years ago I owned a dog that could not have been bought of me for $100, for the reason that he was my childrens’ companion aud the protector of my family, whether I was at home or not; but some sneaking, low down cur of humanity laid poison through the neighborho«d, and in less than half an hour that dog was no more. That same dog was never know to notice sheep that were con- stantly about my place, I have al- ways tried to help the sheep owner .protect his property, and in return he took from me that which money would not replace. Therefore I say, let me pay tax on the night watch- man, so that I can protect his life. J. F. Hoffman. ! Judge J. B. The parlor was beautifully dec¬ orated with evergreeus and flowers. The wedding was a quiet one, only a few relatives and friends be¬ ing present. The handsome and happy couple have the best wishes of a host of friends for their future welfare and i happiness, and the Dispatch begs to to be included in the list. Ludy Whitley will soon work himself out of a job with that culti¬ vator, unless he turns in and breaks up land for bis neighbors, two large mules he can break up six acres a day, and the work done is beyond criticism.
