Jones, former tax collector ©f Brooks county, who was con victed on a charge of embezzle ment at the May term of Brooks court, last year, and sentenced to twelve months in the Chain gang, was pardoned by the governor on the lath inst. The writer knows Mr. Jones, and a more clCver or a more honest man does not live in Brooks county. We say this, not¬ withstanding the conviction for em¬ bezzlement.
