John Calvin Johnson breathes his last on last Monday morning and his spirit its flight to the beautiful realms of endless jov to dwell forever with the God it whom he served so faithfully during Truly a good man has gone. It was not our good fortune to he ally acquainted ... with this good man, long have we heard of his many deeds charity and his faithfulness to the work which he was called. VJe don’t suppose there has ever a man lived in this of Georgia who was more universally and enjoyed a -higher esteem than u r Johnson. Only to know him was to love and reverence him. For a long time Mr. Johnson was sick in Athens, where he was living at the time was taken, and sore and painful were his sufferings, but under skillful treatment kind attention he so far recovered as to he able to come to the home of his son, J. W Johnson, in this place, where he d-i-ed. had been in Watkinsville but a few at-d , at first , , , he seemed to improve . and , he , P were entertained of his recovery. Even to Saturday before his death on Monday was che|rfti'l and seemed to be improving. But the disease was beyond -the control medical skill, and refused to be till death came and relieved its victim his suffering.
