At a meeting of the democratic executive committee yesterday a cidl was made for a mass meeting of the democratic party of Rock¬ dale county on the 30th of June at 2 o’clock p. m. at the court house to select two delegates and two al¬ ternates to attend the congressional convention to be held in Atlanta on the 11 tli of July, and the same number of delegates and alternates to the senatorial convention of this district. And also called a primary elec¬ tion of the democratic party of said county on Saturday July 21st at the several precints of the coun¬ ty to select a candidate for the low¬ er house of the next general assem¬ bly, said election to be governed by the rules heretofore adopted by the executive committee, which will appear hereafter. Some see it one way while others equally gifted in propnetic powers see it another way. However, the nomination will decide the matter. Judge John D. Stewart was re¬ nominated for congress from this the 5th district, last Wednesday. His nomination without opposition is a high honor to a worthy and ef ficient congressman.
