Executive Committee's-. Action. At a meeting of the democratic executive committee yesterday a call was made for a mass meeting of the democratic party of Roclc dale county on the 80th of June at 2 o’clock ]>. m. at the court house to select two delegates and two al¬ ternates to attend the congressional convention to lie held in Atlanta on the 11th of July, and the same number of delegates and alternates to the senatorial convention of this disti ict. And also called a primary elec¬ tion of the democratic party of said county on Saturday July 21st at the several preoints of t he coun¬ ty to select a candidate for the low¬ er house of the next general assem¬ bly, said election to be governed by the rules heretofore adopted by the executive committee, which will appear hereafter. J. N, Glenn, Ch. Ex. Com. Conyers, Ga., Juno 14th 1888. Capt. Pace will in all probability be the democratic nominee for the legislature in Newton county. No better man could be named The Hon. Allen G. Thurman, the democratic candidate for vice-pres¬ ident, will attend the State Fair at Macon this fall. The Georgia Weekly Press Asso¬ ciation will visit t.ie Augusta expo¬ sition in a body on October the 15th The}' will probably go on an excur¬ sion to Charleston before they re¬ turn. The motion for a new trial for Tom Wool folk came before Judge Gustin last Saturday. Ho overrul¬ ed the motion for a new trial and Woolfolk’s attorneys will carry the case to the supremo court. The Farmers Alliance is making considerable headway, Mr, Tid well of McDonough is billed to make several addresses in our county at an early day, and it is thought ho will succeed in doing his organization some good in this county. The nomination is over and we suppose everybody is perfectly sat¬ isfied. Judge McCalla will repre¬ sent the county most ably and ac ceptably. And the county has reason to be proud that Judge Mc¬ Calla is altogether a representative man. M. Thomason on the East of Yellow river and turning to the right going in the direction of Black’s cross roads and running through the lands of Mrs. Mary Moon, John S'oeomb, \V T. Peek and Ralph Neal and intersecting the road now in use about one hundred yards west side of Carr’s Gin branch a distance of about one and a half miles.
