Thursday night at (he residence of
the bride s father. Mr. P. H. White,
Sheffield district his accomplished
daughter Mis Larie White was mar
ried to Mr. Johu I. Almand of this
city, Elder Eh L. McDaoiell officiat
ing in a most impressive manner.
The marriage occured at 5 o'clock in
the afternoon in the presence of a
number of fiiends of the contracting
parties. After the ceremony was over
and the usual congratulations exten¬
ded the company were treated to a
most magnificent supper, just such a
feast as Mrs. White is noted for pre
paring.
The bride and groom spent yester
day at Capt. J. M. White’s where they
were tendered a reception and a splen
did dinner. Mr. Almand is connect
ed with the firm of J. H. Almand &
Co and will make his future home ; u
the city.

ulations and wishes them a happy and

Mr. W. F. Babney has bought the
dwelling on McDonough street be¬
longing to Dr Quigg and will have it

intends to occupy the dwelling as soon
as it can be put in shape.

Judging by the “'great Ad ig nation

Mr. Dock Almand has bonght the
store room recently occupied by Mr.
G. L Kennon and we learn that Mr,
A. D. McDonald and Mr. Joe Almand
will open up business mthis stand at
an early day. We welcome them to
our town and trust that nothing but
success may crown their enterprise.
Three weddings this week and sev¬
eral to occur during the next fortnight.
Verily we believe that all of them will
marry before Christmas.
Messrs. E. H. Almand and Jesse
M. Almand are now partners in the
firm of H. P. <fe D. M. Almand. These
two young men are well equipped for
their chosen aecupation. Having
graduated at Dahlonega, to better lit
themselves for business they went to
Baltimore and graduated at Bryant
& Stratton s business college. Mr.
Jesse Almand will finish hie course
about Christmas and will return to
take his place in the firm. By this
arrangement Mr. D. M. Almand is
settled for life. With his sons in
business here he is settled and ail of
his interest will be in the upbuilding
of Conyers. We are truly glad to
have these young men settle down at
home to do business. We trust that
nothing but success will crown their
every effort and that they may *be a
great factor in the upbuilding of our
city and county.
Mr. L. T. Farrill will go to work
next Tuesday for Mr. Whitley in Lt
thonia. There is not a better smith
in Georgia than Mr. Farrill and we
are glad that he will still remain a
citizen of Conyers.
There was a re-union of the Mc
Calla family at the old homestead in
Sheffield iast Wednesday. It was an
enjoyable occasion and we trust that
the family circle may remain unbro¬
ken to enjoy many i: a such reun
ions.
Mr. Ben Wallace left this week to
take his place on a Georgia railroad
engine.
Sheriff Austin has been on the sick
list a few days this week,

Mr. Pink Sawyers we learn has
