We had the inexpressible pleasure,
last Wednesday, of enjoying the most
luscious and tempting dinner that we
have seen iu a season, at the residence
of Mi W. V. Almand, 27 Decatur
strc«( There were .chicken, vegeta¬
bles, pies, cakes, jellies—in fact, every
thing that was good too numerous to
mention—-especially the chicken. We,
sat down at the tabic in a perfect
state of vacuity, nud by the grand and
noble hospitality of the hostess and
the above magnificent and mouth
wateiing goodies, caused us to leave
the table with a very small amount of
vacimi. but on the other hand looking
greatly refreshed and feeling as saucy
as if we had been used to just such

grace sufficient to hear this
great trial. Now, to quote the
words of our Saviour ‘ ( Be* ye
also reAdy for in such an hour
as ye think not the Son of Man
cometh.” May we all he ready
when our Saviour shall call us.
