The third party charges that
the Democrats have allowed the
existing banking laws to con¬
tinue in force without effort to
abolish or to better. Let us see
if the following will not prove
this statement to be false. In
1870, Randall, a democrat, off¬
ered amendment to a funding
bill proposing to withdraaw na¬
tional bank circulation and is¬
sue $300,000,000 greenbacks.

Did the reader ever know of
a more infamous falsehood than
the charge which the leaders of
the Third party have been mak
ing—that there was no differ¬
ence in the “two old parties ? ”
Can any Democrat leave his
party with such a splendid rec¬
ord, an d at a time it is being so
slanderously attacked ? And
if he has left through these mis¬
representations, will he not like
an honest man return to his
friends.
On Resumption act, sell bonds

Bop. in Senate voted yea 32, nay 1.
Hem, iu House voted yea 0, nay 72.
Bep. in Houses voted yea 138, nay 21.
This is one of the iniquitous
bill that the third party charges
on Congress, and does not tell
the honest voters of this country
that the Democrats in both
Houses voted solid against L.
The Times Recorder says there
is going to be a rivalry between
Sampler and Dooly as lo which

The general verdict of the
press m that section is that
democracy is teribly in interest
in Brooks andLowudes counties
The followers of Weaver are a
powerless majority in those
counties. The disciples of
Peek rise scattering. The pure
democratic teaching, which
those people have had for years
at the hands of such leaders as
Congressman Turner and
others, has made themhrm in
the faith, They are fully ar

may be relied upon for
creased democratic majorities

SAN FRANCISCO, CAL.
LOUISVILLE, KY. NEW YORK, NX
Washington, Ga., Aug. 22.—
Fully one thousand people as¬
sembled at the old “Fountain’
camp ground, in Warren county,
fourteen miles from this place
Sunday. The camp is located in
the third party stronghold of the
tenth district and the Hon. G. H.
Ellington, president of the Far¬
mer’s Alliance, was on hand
spreading third party news under
alliance colors.
In speaking of the action of the
alliance at Gainesville, Mr. El¬
lington seemed rather sore on ac¬
count of the turn matters tool-:,
though he claims that his election
as president was sufficient en¬
dorsement of the third party.
In reply to the question of
what would be the policy of The
Southern Alliance Farmer in the
future, Mr. Ellington said:
“I am chairman of the board
of control of The Southern Alli¬
ance Farmer in the future, and
am determined that its course
shall be the same it has pursued
during the last six months, The
paper shall be a people s parly
paper and shall endorse that par¬
ty at all times.”
Mr. Ellington said in the course
of the conversation wiJi your
correspondent that in the selec¬
tion of “lecturers” for the alliance
througnout the state that he
would take good care that none
but people's party men should
have those positions. In fact,
Mr. Ellington is determined that
alliancemen shall have no doc¬
trine but third party if he can
help it.
A number of promineut alli¬
ancemen in this county have
withdrawn from the order and all
democratic members will with¬
draw if this course is pursued.
