After the Election
It is ftxirfemeL' gratifying to see
the unanimity with which those who
wandt-ifed off after the third purtv
falacy are coining back to their old
party j and it is pleasant to see how
warmly they arc recieved by tbeir
brothers who remained with I he old
ship. Nearly all of them are honest
citizens who were mured by men
who were anxious for office; men
who were ready to plunge the conn'
try into war and ruin if they could
only satisfy their unworthy ambi¬
tion-
We predict that it will be many
years before political mountebanks
and agitators will be able to again
devide our people and cause the
strife and trouble that hag gotten up
during the last two years.
Democracy is tho safeguard of
our people. The people have grie¬
vances, it is true, but they can get
more by standing togother under
the old banner than they can by di
vission and raising new ensigns.
The democratic party is not per¬
fect but it is far better than any
other, and the southern man who de
deserts it knows not }iis best inter¬
est. It is the white roan’s party
and at the last election 4 years ago,
received over a million rnajoriry of
white votes. Come back, boys, all
of you; join in our primaries and
help us to roll up « tremendous ma¬
jority for the great, honest man,
who is leading our national ticket.
Our Colored Democrats.
A largo number of our colored
bretheren have expreBcd|their deter¬
mination to vote, hereafter the dem¬

The dailies were a little slow
about jumping on the third party

did jump they did very good work.
