The O. G. L. society will meet
on next Saturday evening at the

program is a good one. and if
properly carried out will be quite

The celebration of the fourth
at Oak Hill was a success. A
large concourse of people assem
blecl from Rockdale and Newton,
The Sunday School exercises
were in the forenoon and the
celebration of the fourth in the
afternoon. In the morning Dr.
Quillian delivered the address
of the day. It was replete with
sound argument, appropiate to
the occasion. lathe afternoon
recitations from the children,
and speeches from Prof. Davies
and Col. Hawkins of Covington
and Col. Livingston were made.
Col. Livingston is ever ready
and equal to every emergency.
He gave an interesting account which
of his trip to Venezuela,
was enjoyed by all who heard
this distinguished Georgian.
The dinner was a fine spread—
all were fed, having abundant
fragments left. Everyone feast¬
ed the body, mind, and soul.
The day will long he remember
ed as a pleasant oasis on the
highway of life.
