ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA .
By virtue of the authority vested in
me as Clerk of the superior court of
said county, I hereby order an election
to he held on Tuesday, the 27th day of
August, 1895, for the office of Ordinary
of Rockdale county to fill the vacancy
for tbn unexpired term caused by the
death on July 3rd, 1805, of Eon. Obe
diali Seamans, late Ordinary of said
county.

Mrs. Sims was ninety-two
years old, was a member of
the Baptist church, and lived a
life of industry and influence.

large sorrowing family.

Rockdale county last Tuesday
passed olf quietly. The Derno
cratic nominee, Cel. A. M.
Helms, was elected by 90 major¬
ity over Mr. White, the Populist
candidate.
Judge Helms is a worthy and
capable man, who will perform
the duties of the office of ordin¬
ary with fidelity., tact and abili
ty- The entire people are satis¬
fied with the result of the elec¬
tion feeling that the trusts, of

the office are safely reposed in
the hands of Col. Helms, Be

M. Helms, democrat, was elect¬
ed by 90 majority. Mr. P. H.

was the strongest man they had
in the county. Helms received
399 votes and White received
309. Score one for registration.

Yallie Almand spent seven
days in the country the past

district of this county, owns a
cow which has given birth to
twins twice. The first two were
calved about 14 months jjgo;
the second on the 16th of this
month. The ^irst are spotted
heifers and the last tire solid red
heifers. The mother is a good
milker,though of ordinary stock.
A few cows like this one would
soon stock a farm with beef cat¬
tle and milkers.
