McDonough can’t play hall a
little bit - Our boys tried to give
them the game but the team
didn’t seem to want it. Not
one of the Conyers boys played
up to the notch—it was too hot,
Tom Gunn, cob, cropper on
Mr. Brooks Posey’s place,
brought a small basket of new
cotton to our office Thursday,
He says he intends to go to
picking next week and will
probably sell a bale about Au¬
gust 15th. Tom is a good far¬
mer and lias an excellent crop
this year.
Mr. Chas Ogletree, of Crawfotd
ville, was here to see relatives Sun¬
day.

Baseball.
Conyers has played her third
game of ball at home this season
and has wo.i two aud lost one.
The last game played here wa s
with the McDonough team last Tuei
day afternoon. The score was 11 to
8 in favor of Conyers, Our team
didn’t ha f play ball but succeeded
iu taking the game
Norman and McDonald were the
battery for Conyers and Tye and
Turner for McDonough. The only
feature of the g.rne was the listlcsB
playing ou the part ot some of the
home boys- It was so very warm
they diden’t seem to be able to get
in the game. McDonough plays
good ball and they are all clever
fellows. Two or three on the team
play exceptionally good ball, but it
is not laid down in the course of
nutural events for those boys to beat
Conyers. Our team will go to Mc¬
Donough as soon as arrangements
can be made and then will come the
fastest game of tha season. Mc¬
Donough will take the next if in her
power it lies.
Mr. Sloan umpired the game and
gave entire satisfaction. He is a
splendid umpire.

All citizens of Conyers are hereby notified to put their prem
*8os in proper sanitary condition, All out houses, hog pens,
privies, places where slops are thrown from kitchens, standing
water in tubs, refuse heaps, stables, and etc. must be thou rough¬
ly cleansed without delay, and kept so by use of lime and other
disinfecting substances, sprinkled about said places on premists
not less than twice a week.
Inspection af premises will take place at proper intervals.
Neglect to give notice to above may produce sickness and cause
death; and any person or persons, who willfully refuses to put
t heir premises in such proper condition, need not expect any
clemency from city authorities should such person or persons he
arraigned for violating any of sanitary ordinances.
