now sole owner of the Pierce quarry,
some two miles out from Convers.
We understand that a force of hands
will be put to work on this rock yard
at an early day, and Mr. Alex Currie
will be in charge of them.

move in in a lew days.
Several of our politically inclined
citizens were disappointed when the
excursion train passed through with
out baking last Thursday.
We are informed that the stock-,
holders of the cotton seed oil mill
have elected Mr. Noon B. Hudson
superintendent of the mill for the
coming season- Mr. Hudson will
likely move to Conyers at an
early date.

nounce that the Jonesboro and Mc¬
Donough baseball teams will cross
bats on the latter’s ground next
Wednesday Aug. 12, and that lovers
of the game in Conyers are cordially
