The Evening Constitution is
no more. While it lived it was
the brightest newspaper that
ever graced the journalistic
field of Georgia, It’s death
was not due to absence of ptos
perity but to warfare between
the United Press and the Asso¬
ciated Press Associations that
resulted disastrously for the
Evening Constitution. It is a
death in which thousands
of Georgia readers come togeth¬
er and mourn.

Rev. Ro^owsky.
Rev. Sigmund Ragowsky,
whose recent preaching at the
Baptist church here so deeply
interested our people, was in
attendance upon the State Bap¬
tist Convention which has just
closed its session at Gainesville,
and the Atlanta Journrl’s Con ¬
vention reporter furnishes the
following concerning him:
“Among the delegates is Rev.
Sigmund Rogowsky.a converted
Jew, who is now a Baptist mis¬
sionary to the Jews and Gen¬
tiles. He was Rabbi of the
New Hebrew congregation in
Glasgow, Scotland, in 1882, but
felt convicted that he must be¬
come a Christain. He came
over to this country and settled
in Louisville, Ky., where he
professed belief in Jesus and
was baptised with his wife and
two daughters by Dr. T. T.
Eaton.
“Ho soon afterwards went to
work in Cincinnati as a mission¬
ary to the Jews under the au¬
spices of the northern Baptist
and later from 1890 to 1896, he
became missionary to the Jews
and Gentiles in the city of Lou¬
isville.
Since last September Mr. Ro
gowsky has been doing mission¬
ary work in Georgia. He has
been preaching at Jefferson for
some time and has preached to
Grady Beynolds and Bud Brooks
now in the Fulton jail on a
charge of murdering Mr. Hunt.
Mr Iiogowsky has a written con¬
fession from Reynolds as to how
the killing was done.

general Kimsey organized the
April term of Rockdale Superi¬

in short order.
The grand jury organized
with D. M. Almaud, foreman
and proceeded at once to dis¬
charge the duties of that body.
The civil docket occupied
two days of court, at the eud of
which time very few ca8es were
left on the docket. Business
was conducted in judge Can¬
dler’s usual rapid and precise
manner and no time was lost.
The criminal docket was ta¬
ken up oh Wednesday morning
and four o’clock Thursday eve¬
ning all the criminal business
was disposed of that was ready

New Bridge.
The Ordinary’s call for seal¬
ed bids for the building of a new
bridge across yellow river at
Gee’s Mill was answered by
eight bidders last Tuesday morn¬
ing as follows:—
A.T. Helton $545 00
C. E L. Rogers 077 66
II. A. Granger...... 582 50
P. G. Wesley 895.00
Clms. G. Turner ... 600 00
J. F. Wallis... 439.00
J. J. Stansell. 439.00
J. J. W. Glenn 43750
W. W. King... 737.00
As will be seen from the above
Mr. P. G. Wesley, of Lithonia,
was the lowest bidder. His bid
is $42 50 below the next lowest
bidder Dr. J. J. W. Glenn, and
$342.00 lower than the highest
bidder. Mr. Wesley’s bid is
considered a very low one in¬
deed, and. demonstrates that
there is a great saviug to the
county’s work.
Mr. Wesley will give a good
bond and the county is assured
of a good substantial bridge at
a very small cost.
Grand Success.
Ten Nignts In a Bar-room was

local talent at Almand’s Hall
last night for the benefit of the

well entertained and are loud in

Seeing is believing. Now a word to the breeders of this
section. Come and take a look at Brownzil and King William
before breeding your mares this season. Brownzil is too well
known through this section to need any special mention. It
goes without saying that he is given up by all as being the gran¬
dest stallion ever brought to Georgia,
King William must be seen to be appreciated. He is known
as the Jim Chupp and Jule Johnson Jack, and his breeding is as
followa: King William, black Jack, with fight points, foaled in
1892, sired, by Cleveland, lie by Eureka by Rice H. Park’s Pea¬
cock, he by Henry'Lee’s Napolean and lie by Imported Napolean.
