of the gentleman, and it is very
necessary that, in looking after
his fences, he should see that
the tail of this politician? should

of the cracks •
We understand, privately,
that Mr. Hill is very desirous of
taking a ’’peep” at ’’that”
from which he recieved the re¬
quest. Ho has intimated as
much to one of Mr. Livingston s
friend’s, and asked, all in the
same borath , what they were
fed on in ” Jaw-jay”
Congressman Livingston is
in danger, and as a well pleased
constituent we believe it is our
duty to thus publicly proclaim
the existence of this politician
that his friends may take such
action in his behalf as they deem
expedient in the unusual emer¬
gency.
Mr. Livingston has been faith¬
fully performing his duties in
Washington during the long hot
months just past and has had
no time to devote to his politi¬
cal interest at home, but this
fact is not likely to detract from
hisstrengh. It may be that in
making out his seed listy Mr
Livingston unintentionally sligh¬
ted Mr. Hill’s correspondent.
This would account for the
dissatisfaction, otherwise- we
are at a loss to understand if
