CONYERS,— Dear • Index:
Rockdale Baptist church, two
miles from Conyers, has closed
i glorious revival which fol¬
lowed the General Meeting
was held with the church, com¬
mencing Friday the 6th inst,
During the General Meeting we
had two fine sermons from
brethren I, G. Walker, of Cov¬
ington, and A. J. Beck, of Li
thonia, also some very interest¬
ing talks from a good many
other visiting brethren. The
brethen preached and spoke
with great earnestness and
power, and a deeply religious
spirit seemed to characterize
the meeting from the start.
After the general meeting closed
Bro. J - M. Defoor, tbe pastor,
came full of the spirit, having
been holding about four weeks’
meeting with his other church
es, and brought with him that
talented and consecrated young
brother, Lamar Sims, of Jones¬
boro, who assisted him in
preaching the word for cighl
days. This resulted in forty
two additions , fort by baptism
and two by letter. The crowd
wore so largo that the house
would not hold the people, and
the lirethercn are moving in tin
matter of erecting a larger house
of worship at an early day. To
the Lord bo all the praise.

Niggardliness in the house of
God toward God’s cause is a
prevailing meanness. We look
with contempt on paupers who
make themselves so by indolence
and parasitic inclinations. How
much worse us a church pauper?
He knows little of the riches of
grace. lie lives upon the sacri¬
fices of others. He considers
only his own pleasure and
thinks it is blessed only to re¬
lieve. These paupers are not
those who are without money •
they are those without the grace
of living. They have the means
but not the mind to give. Their
meanness makes the spiritval
enterprises of the church halt,

ever prought to Conyers. The coal 1 sell is strictly guai

coals- I could refer to hundreds of others who prefer this coal
to any other,
All who expect to burn coal the coming winter would do
well to give me their order at once. There is going to be an
