McDonough’s First Bale.
The Henry County Weekly
says: “McDonough received
her first bale Thursday after¬
noon last week, It was brought
by Mr. Johu Urumbley of White
house, weighed 440 pounds and
sold to Mr, II. J. Copeland for
8 cents, Air, Tom Kelley, an¬
other Henry county man (a
neighbor of Mr. Crumbley) car¬
ried the first bale to Conyers the
same day. There a purse had
been made up, the sheriff auc¬
tioned it off and Mr. Kelley re¬
ceived JOI cents. These gentle¬
men were rivals as to who
should get in the first bale, and
luckily for Mr. Kelley be secur¬
ed the largest number of bands
and beat Mr. C. a few hours
taking his to Conyers, while the
other came here. We regret
that all the facts were not known
here, as we are confident that
McDonough would have “seen”
Conyers aud “gone her one bet¬
ter.”
We consider the above a “tale
of woe” for McDonough. Con¬
yers never waits for “facts” or
hesitates to do full justice to
the occasion in business matters,
as many good Henry county
farmers well know. Conyers
didn’t know the “facts” and yet,

I AM I II L. SOLE AGENT for this section for the best coal
ever prought to Conyers. The coal I sell is strictly guai

World’s Fair and at the Atlanta Exposition. The officials of
Fulton county aud the city of Atlanta, also the Southern rail¬
road, have adopted for their use this in preference to all other
coals - l could refer to hundreds of others who prefer this coal
to any other.
All who expect to burn coal the coming winter would do
well to give me their order at once. There is going to be an

get it for much less than they have paid heretofore, and a bet¬
